Finally over and done with

Well it's finally over and done with. I've managed to get back to KL in one piece without burning a big hole through my pockets as compared to my previous years of going back to Penang for my birthday celebrations.

With the fuel hike and all, I've decided to take the bus back to Penang as it would definitely by much cheaper as compared to driving up. So with this savings, we would have more booze..(drunkards)

I parked my car at Kelana Jaya lrt station to hop on a lrt to get to Pasar Seni. Through out the journey, I noticed that I'm not the only one that takes the lrt to Pudu just to hop on a bus to get back to their various hometowns. All of us were heading to 1 common place to get on the bus in order to save up some money.

As the lrt approached the Pasar Seni station, we got ready to get down the lrt and a 15 to 20 minutes walk to Pudu bus station. As we walked pass Petaling Street, we noticed the amount of people doing their last minute shopping's for clothes and other accessories for Raya which is just a few hours away. Upon reaching our destination (finally), we saw quite a number of stalls just outside the jam packed bus station selling more clothes. I finally realized that this a normal routine for these traders to set up make shift tents to sell clothes and shoes during Ramadhan just to get extra cash for their Raya celebrations.

After waiting for more than half an hour, we finally got onto the bus and made our way back to Penang. Somehow, it was almost impossible for me to sleep as usual so I decided to mess around with my phone till it ran flat. After almost 5 hours, we finally arrived at the Sg Nibong bus station somewhere around Bayan Lepas area. It was a great feeling to be back as I was looking forward to get home and visit my mom and kid brother. Besides that, all my friends were waiting for me as we've not met up for quite a while.

So as I got home, I was surprised to see my mom still up and about waiting for me to come home. It was about 4.30 in the morning then...We stayed up till 5 catching up with the past and current issues at hand and also planned the itinerary for the next few days. Finally crashed onto the bed after that.

So after going around the island looking for people and food, dusk has finally took over and the plans for that evening were being excuted while I was having dinner with my mom and brother in this nice little North Indian restaurant just opposite Paradise Sandy Bay hotel. The food was excellent with a cosy environment and great service. Pricing was rather reasonable too.

After dinner, the main plans were to meet up and celebrate my birthday in one of our ex colleague's place in Pulau Tikus just opposite Adventis hospital. It's called Melissa's. We are drinking and singing till 3 something. We decided to have a little sea breeze to go with our supper and we ended up in Khaleel's by the sea for supper. By the time I got home, it was somewhere around 5 in the morning with my head spinning like a top going at it's fastest.

By the time i finally got up, it was 12pm in the afternoon with my mom rushing me to get ready for lunch. We made our way down to New World Park for our brunch with the whole group of friends who were still kinda blur from last night. After lunch, our next stop was Queensbay Mall as I've never been there even though it has opened it's doors many many years ago.

I must say that it felt rather KL this time around with most of the familiar shops and eateries around. The development done to the once abandoned mall and it's surrounding was just amazing as this is what we needed for Penang. I must say CP group has done a great job with developing the whole area. For most of you who didn't know, CP group is the people responsible in bringing us Eastin hotel and CP Towers which is located at Section 16 PJ.

So all in all, I had a very interesting birthday this year with all the activities lined up for me by my friends. The question is, would there be another marking my 30th birthday next year or would I go through it alone in KL?

Well..till my next posting.....

Cheers
