Merry X'mas & a Happy New Year

I know this is a few days late but I feel that it is only right for me to wish everybody a belated Merry X'mas and also a Happy New Year.

It has been a long weekend for me as I had my friends from Penang joining me for X'mas. They arrived on X'mas day and stayed till yesterday. It was a damn relief that they've gone back to Penang as I can finally sleep in my room again.

After consecutive late nights, I found it rather hard to get up at 7.30 in the morning again. Even no as I sit here alone in the office while trying to figure out what exactly I'm trying to say on this blog, I'm still longing for my bed.

I guess that's all for now.

Till my next post.....

Happy New Year...

Year end

It feels like it was just yesterday that we've celebrated the New Year for 2008 and we're almost at  the end of it today. When I was studying, I felt that time almost stood still. To wait for 1 minute to pass by was so slow and now when we are much older, the days and months seems to fly by at the speed of light.

I was actually wondering what happened to all the days, weeks and months that just flew by me and thinking where is my progress in life. I'm still in the same situation that I was last year. Feels like nothing much has changed throughout this year as compared to last year.

Now with BN getting a simple majority this time around, it has definitely created more havoc instead of good for the country. Lets take Penang for an example. The State Government is run by the then Opposition while the local council is being run by the then state government.

New laws and by-laws is being churned out by the local council without getting any consent from the State Government. The business operators who are trying to make their ends meet are facing more trouble from the local council now as compared to previously.

My question here is, why can't both parties work hand in hand to make the environment better to live in? Why can't both parties make it easier for business operators to obtain their licenses? Why can they hunt down those irresponsible people who try to cheat or outsmart the innocent people?

I guess that is simply out of their scope of work as to them, money in their pocket is better then helping out the poor people. I' was wondering, if one day, during the general elections, all voters refuse to cast their votes for anybody at all. This would mean that 26 million people refusing o vote as we don't see the point of voting when all it does is bring us more pain and agony after voting for the party that we thought was good enough to serve us.

I find it totally a waste of time these days to vote for somebody or even a party and in return you don't get a single thing done. The amount of potholes on the roads has not decreased. Even at USD45 per barrel of oil, we are still being charged RM 1.80/lit at our pumps when it was USD 87/barrel and we were being charged RM 1.92/lit.

The reduction of 3% from your EPF will ultimately increase your income tax. So on the pretext of boosting the spending power, the government is looking for ways and means to make you contribute more money to them.

I hope that all our grievances would be looked into instead of putting up a monkey show that we read about daily in the newspaper.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year.

Cheers

Penang

Well, I never thought that my business trip was supposed to be a short and sweet one. We left KL at around 6 something in the morning and arrived at Juru around 10 something. After going on and about our business meetings and courtesy calls with 3 kids in the car waiting for their father and I to accomplish our duties, we finally called it a day at roughly 4 something. This was after we visited 7 clients of ours.

I know you must be thinking how on earth did we accomplish such feat. Well, we were lucky that the locations of each appointments was pretty close by each other, hence the figures. So after resting in the house with my mom and brother, I thought we would be travelling back to KL today after finishing our last appointment which was at 9 in the morning.

Just so that we are not caught in the nasty early morning crawl at the Jelutong highway, we decided that we should leave Gurney at 7.30am. Little that we knew, the traffic today wasn't that bad and we managed to arrive the area around 8.20am considering we left at 8am.

After breakfast there, we went for our appointment which ended earlier then expected. So we decided that I'll go home and rest while he took his family to Kek Lok Si and also the Reclining Buddha. Shortly after 11 in the morning, I received a phone call saying that we are supposed to attend a dinner appointment tonight either in Penang island or over at the Mainland.

By then, I was neither here nor there as I don't have my car with me. To make things worse, my laptop is in the computer shop for a new screen as the previous one cracked. Imagine going through another day in Penang without a car nor a laptop. Luckily I managed to hijack my mom's laptop for a while to blog this turn of events.

Looks like we'll be travelling back tomorrow morning with a car full of kids and infants. Hopefully the highway is clear and we should be able to get back to KL before 2pm.

Well....till my next post.....

Cheers.

Frostwire

For those of you who has been using Limewire Pro and wonders why it doesn't work as good as before, the answer is very simple. They have started up a new division called Frostwire. It is as good as Limewire Pro if not better as it is absolutely free.

If you notice I have the add right on top to enable you guys to download it without any hassle. After using it for about a few weeks now, I find it as easy to use as the Limewire Pro and it's much faster.

The best part of it all is it is absolutely free.....(I know I've said it already) unlike Limewire Pro. It even comes with chat rooms for you to be able to chat with users from all over the world while downloading your favourite songs or movies.

It is very easy to use as it is running on the exact same interface as Limewire Pro. Even the settings of Frostwire is the same as the one in Limewire Pro. So basically, if you switch to Frostwire, you won't find any difference in the the method of downloading your songs or movies.

It also supports Bittorrent files and it is able to intergrate with iTunes. You get to connect to more sources in return giving you more results. It also has a Junk Result Filter just to filter off the unwanted stuff and it has absolutely no spywares or adwares. Downloading speeds has been turbo charged to give you faster downloaad time.

All I can say is, it is the software to get for all your downloading needs. All you need to do is just to click on the advertisement above or simply go to www.frostwire.com to download it today.

Have fun....

Till my next post......

Firefly Airlines @ Skypark, Subang

With the long weekend around the corner, I've decided to take a R&R trip back to Penang. The flight back on Firefly was a surprise to us as we were on the newer plane as compared to the Forker that we were on the last time we took a trip to Langkawi.

I must say that the newer planes are much cleaner and it smells very much cleaner. The last time we were on the Forker, the planes were very run out and there was a certain stench in the cabin. To top things off, instead of the usual refreshment carts being pushed on the aisle to offer the guest some drinks or chips for sales, we were served with muffins and orange cordial.

This is definitely a certain change that we can expect MAS to come up with being the "Community Airlines" to get through the current economy. Besides upgrading the aircraft, Terminal 3 is going through a major facelift to the new SkyPark theme.

The preliminary works done to the old terminal looks rather promising and it should be a boost to the domestic flights as I would think more people would prefer to fly from Subang as compared to the LCCT in Sepang. With proper marketing, it should be a big boost to the low cost carrier segments as the of its strategic location.

I certainly hope that the Government would continue to develop this property as it would be a huge savings for us the Rakyat as we would spend less on fuel to get there, probably cheaper parking but most important factor which is the accessibility.

The facelift works should be completed withing the next few months to a year and I'm looking forward to fly from Skypark in the future.

Till my next post.....

Blur.....

It's been a while since I've actually took the time to sit down and blog about something. With the current situation domestically and internationally, I'm under quite a lot of stress on how to spruce up our sales as we are approaching the end of 2008.

It feels like I've just joined this company and yet it has been 8 months now. With things not getting any better due to the current economic downturn, I think it will be a very difficult year end. Businesses are collapsing everywhere around the world while others are looking for fresh investors or even funds from the government to sustain this difficult times.

For example, Citi Group is known as 1 of the largest bank in US and it's facing so much of financial problems that it almost went bust if it was not for the Federal Reserve who rescued them with USD 20 billion. On top of that, the government has agreed to shoulder their losses which was within the range of hundreds of billions.Even established companies like JP Morgan & Chase has laid off 9,200 workers at its Washington Mutual Unit.

What I'm trying to say here is, we should be blessed that we still have our jobs and salaries right now as compared to the hundreds of thousand people in America without a job. We should learn on how to spend less as in time to come, we will join the rest of the world in this economic slow down.

For those who normally eats out, it would be much cheaper and healthier for you to cook at home. We have to know what are our needs and necessities. It is time to understand yourself whether you really need the item that you're about to buy? Can you live without it for the time being? If the answer is yes, then you might have saved yourself alot of money. If the answer is no, then looks like you're gonna have to buy it.

As forecasted, we will head into worse times after Chinese New Year 2009. This will definately mean that the 1st half of 2009 will be in shitty times and if we're lucky enough, things will start to recover after June '09.

I would like to take this oportunity to wish all readers best of luck in this coming year and hopefully we will have a better 2010.

Till my next post.....

Cheers.
